A Community specifically for farmers?
If that sounds crazy, think again. You work long hours on the farm, getting up at the crack of dawn and not going in until sunset making it impossible tomeet people. Mainstream dating sites might work for most people, but if you’re a farmer a city slicker who wants to go out at 9 for fancy cocktails isn’t likely to be a good match. After all how many people who aren’t used to the lifestyle enjoy working on a farm?
The reality is in most farm communities everyone knows everyone else. If you haven’t married by the time you’re out of high school or you’re divorced it may be difficult to meet someone else. You don’t have to be a farmer to be on a farmer dating site, but you do have to enjoy country farm style living. Forget about astrological signs and income! Are you comfortable walking around in mud? Are you OK being around animals? Do you know the difference between a tractor and a combine? You want someone who will understand having to cancel a date on account of a sick sow or traveling 50 miles to go on a date.
If you’re not a farmer, just prepared for a few things:
• He or she might stink after a long day trolling around in the fields or even worse in manure.
• You are not dating Rico Sauve. You are dating someone who is a little rough around the edges and is more comfortable in jeans and a hoodies.
• Ladies, high heels are not going to work on the farm.
• They may compare you to farm animals.
Farming is not just an occupation; it’s a lifestyle. But it can be a very rewarding one as long as you’re ready for it. |

A woman was surprised to find a hidden cache of antique jewellery inside a bag purchased at an opportunity shop in Rosebud, south-east of Melbourne.
The woman bought a pink satin zipper bag on March 19.
It contained more than six gold rings, a rose gold chain bracelet, watches, earrings and necklaces. |
